About Chilkoot Homes

The goal of homeownership for post-baby-boomer generations seems to be getting further out of reach. Canadians have some of the highest amounts of debt on the planet, and it's feeling like it's harder and harder to get ahead.

We've felt this before too, and we wanted to change this.

We saw an opportunity to help people achieve their goal of homeownership while aligning with our passion of empowering people with financial literacy. It's what inspired our company purpose, "to empower people with lifelong financial literacy and a mindset of sustainability."

Our brand, Chilkoot Homes, symbolizes the journey we take with our future homeowners as they plant their flag on the peak and become homeowners. We're here to be your sherpa and help you achieve your goals.

Our big, audacious goal is to make 1,000 people homeowners by 2030, all while helping tackle Canada's housing affordability and consumer debt crises.

Committed to Community

We all do better, when we are all doing better. It's why we're so passionate about community building. At Chilkoot Homes, our founders are proud to be active volunteers, investing in our communities through impactful causes to empower underrepresented populations, youth, and seniors with a keen focus on financial literacy and economic empowerment.

Jonathan got his start in financial literacy nearly 10 years ago in 2014 when he was working for a credit union in Alberta. He led the creation and growth of a financial literacy program that helped hundreds of individuals – from grade 4 students all the way up to senior learners – build a solid foundation of financial knowledge. Since then Jonathan has held several volunteer positions on boards, most recently as the chairperson with the Alberta LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce.

Kevin got his start volunteering at a young age at the Stollery Children's Hospital in Edmonton. In 2022, he volunteered to create and deliver the Youth Entrepreneurship Training Initiative – a program to empower youth in care with entrepreneurial skills and financial literacy – in collaboration with the Windsor-Essex Children's Aid Society.

They've taken this passion for financial literacy and community building and embedded it into the very foundation Chilkoot Homes.
